Heat Pump

The North Canterbury Energy Centre at 254 High Street in Rangiora is a one stop shop for all your home heating needs. We boast extensive experience in home heating from qualified engineers.

NCEC staff are are highly skilled and experienced. All staff members at the Centre are trade qualified. This is important to you as a customer because it means excellent after sales service and support is always available, including wood fire flue cleaning, gas testing, and heat pump servicing.

There is no bias for any particular type of heating system; rather the emphasis is upon advising on the most efficient and economical form for each particular home environment.
With this in mind a free in-home consultation can be carried out. Many people are not aware of the implications of “clean heat” regulations, and may not be aware of the possibilities available to them, not only in terms of heating methods but also heat transfer.

The North Canterbury Energy Centre can also advise you about the latest advances in technology and options few of us consider. For example, solar energy (which attracts a subsidy of $1000) is much more efficient today, and photo-voltaic energy technology means that power can actually be exported to the grid (sold back). Graham Eckardt talks about solar and wetback hot water cylinder compatibility, which reduces electricity usage tremendously. Use of solar energy can cut electricity expense by up to $100 per month.
Boilers can also severely reduce electricity usage, and these can be powered with diesel or wood pellets.

For heat pumps, wood fires, and gas fires listed on the EECA Clean heat list, the centre can offer a heating subsidy with its insulation partner through the EECA Energywise grant scheme, for customers who meet the criteria.

The best idea is to drop into the North Canterbury Energy Centre and browse the spacious showroom. Too often purchases of this nature are made without checking all of the facts and this is where the experience and knowledge of Matthew Withers and Graham Eckardt will save you money (and heat). They ensure also that there is comprehensive follow-up and maintenance and they are able to tap into a large web of qualified contractors, tradesmen, and refrigeration engineers.

The North Canterbury Energy Centre is in the business of ensuring that people in the region can enjoy economically heated, warm, dry, and healthy homes even in the coldest winter conditions.
